We are Annelies, Jan, Lore and Lisa and warmly welcome you to Sassenbroek, in peaceful Broekom, near Borgloon. Here we share our passion for peace, nature and enjoying things together, the ideal place to completely unwind.

The Eskens family has been connected to Sassenbroek and Broekom for over two centuries. Our roots go back to Joannes Eskens (1782), who lived and worked here as a clog maker. For generations, our family remained active in the village and on the land, including Eduard Eskens, a farmer and mayor of Broekom.

This story of work, responsibility, and connection to the region still forms the basis of Hof van Sassenbroek today. Here, history and rural charm come together, and we invite our guests to come and experience it for themselves.

Our dream of creating a place where guests feel at home and can completely relax became a reality in 2020 with the purchase of a farmhouse to be renovated. Thanks to the support of our family, Jan's brother Piet and his wife Pascale, our parents, and the rest of the family, we have worked hard to develop Hof van Sassenbroek into a holiday farmhouse with charm, luxury, and comfort.

At the beginning of 2026, we officially opened our doors. Since then, we have been delighted to welcome guests of all ages, from small families to larger groups of friends or family.
